Noah Young Band

The Noah Young Band began in New Orleans in 2015 and has steadily carved out a space in both the local and national scenes with its high-energy performances and innovative sound. Drawing from the deep well of New Orleans funk while pushing boldly into new territory, the group fuses earthy grooves with Noah Young’s adventurous compositional voice—resulting in music that is at once deeply familiar and refreshingly forward-thinking. Whether you’re dancing or listening intently, the band’s sound creates a unique duality: grounded yet exploratory, accessible yet cerebral.

Comprised of some of the most talented and in-demand young players in the city, the band features members affiliated with acts like Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Maroon 5, PJ Morton, and Big Sam’s Funky Nation. The lineup’s flexibility mirrors the versatility of Young’s writing—working equally well in a stripped-down trio as in a full ensemble.

Their new album, Noah, arrives September 26, 2025, and marks the band’s most personal and expansive work to date. Produced by Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Jamison Ross, the record blends soul, jazz, and groove into a powerful sonic statement. Early singles “Gemini” and “Early Morning” have already drawn praise for their emotional depth, tight musicianship, and the signature feel of Ross’s production.

The band has performed at many of New Orleans’ premier music venues, including Tipitina’s, The Maple Leaf, Blue Nile, and Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse. Notable performances beyond the city include FIMU in Belfort, France (2019), Rudy’s Jazz Room in Nashville (2018), and the Discover Jazz Festival in Burlington, VT (2017).

In 2019, they released their sophomore album Splinter on the musician-run label Bubble Bath Records. The record continues to receive airplay on local stations like WWOZ and WTUL, and its single “Six Million Ways to Die” was featured on Spotify’s official State of Jazz playlist, earning over 20,000 streams.

The Noah Young Trio continues to hold down a weekly residency every Sunday night at Bacchanal Wine Bar in New Orleans, bringing fresh interpretations and dynamic energy to one of the city’s most beloved listening rooms.

With Noah on the horizon and momentum building from all corners, the band is poised for its most exciting chapter yet.
